today was the first soccer practice. we had to take a train all the way to Zone 5 to this place called Berrylands (sadly no berries in sight) to the Berrylands training grounds run by LSE. Berrylands is this quiet little town in the outskirts of london where the air is really fresh in contrast to the smoggy london weather (for the past 3 days). The pitch was so well maintained it was a pleasure to play on it. And it wasn't very cold so most of us were comfortably attired in t-shirts and shorts. Should have brought my boots along. Will bring them over in January. Anyway, the girls from the US are really pro. hopefully i can learn a thing or two from them. Played right back, and i think i didn't do such a bad job for a beginner. Although i was uncertain whether i should turn up for training, i'm glad that I did. Spent a good part of the morning deciding whether to go, and finally i dragged myself out of bed. I knew that if i didn't go, not knowing if i'd make it through the trials would kill me, much like it did when i was too lazy to go for women's softball trials in j2. In a way, you just crave to know for sure what the outcome will be like, regardless of the outcome.
