thursday was spent reading. spent almost the entire day in my room. unfortunately, i only made it through 11 pages of chris brown's book. The laptop is too distracting, i leave it on just in case friends come online. Maybe i should just turn it off next time. At night, went to watch "Fame". It wasn't as good as les miserables i thought, but then again it was a different kind of musical. More emphasis on dance instead of singing. The PL kind of musical. anyway, spent another night out in London. Always enjoy late nights in the city, even in Singapore. Its quieter and more beautiful. Next time we will head to Chinatown for dou jiang you tiao!
I was quite bored during my stuyding, so i decided to send junk messages to people in Singapore over the internet. little did i know that a simple spam message to my sister that said "hello i am bored" would mobilise the entire family to call me and start a video conversation over msn! I will never ever do that again.
Anyway, wanted to put this down long ago but i keep on forgetting. Monica Lewnisky is studying at LSE! haha. she's doing post grad. sadly, even if i bumped into her in the corridor i wouldn't recognise her. I heard quite a few guys are trying to get lucky with her. How amusing.
A few amusing things happened today. Firstly, was walking back to Bankside with Huishan and Shafa when we noticed a duck swimming along the River Thames. The first time we saw one here. It was quite cute i must say. However, further along the way we passed the convenience store and saw that the headlines for the South London Post were "Diesel spill on the River Thames". Poor guy.
The second thing is that i found out the welfare officer of Bankside happens to live on my floor! This cheerful girl who always stops to chat and say hi. (I should have known). Anyway turns out one of her duties is to give out free condoms. (To prevent the spread of veneral disease around Bankside? Haha). Would that explain all the commotion on the 7th floor in the wee hours of the morning? (And the mysterious message on my door)
Weekend is here and i'm broke! Darn. Have to fork out 13 pounds to go for soccer tryouts. this is terrible.

Netball tryouts went quite badly. had a really bad day. Its the kind of day where everything just goes wrong and you can't seem to get out of it. Maybe i wasn't focused. bad passes, stupid mistakes, the wrong type of defence, no sense of urgency. It was quite terrible really, my netball has been going downhill for quite a few weeks now. The high was 2 months ago, the friendly with Lab10 and pesta sukan. Now i'm stuck in a rut. don't know how long it will last. The last rut was in sec 1 and 2 and it lasted close to a year. i think it's a mental block. when you just can't get into the right frame of mind to perform well. argh. i shall refrain from using any other stronger words to save everyone the shock of me cursing. miss the nice SRC showers and post-training bak chor mee at victoria street.
malaysian food today was quite good. the rendang was tasty.

Went to watch les miserables with shafa, huishan, huifang, adrian and khoon liat yesterday. It was quite enjoyable, but also quite sad cos there was an empty seat beside me and i wished there would be someone there to fill it up. After that we took a very long but enjoyable walk back to bankside. Passed trafalgar square and crossed waterloo bridge where there was a fantastic view of the london eye and big ben. Sadly, i didn't manage to get very clear pictures of that.
Netball tryouts are tomorrow! I hope it goes well....
And the people here are really friendly! Had dinner with a girl from Norway, and someone gave me a notebook after only knowing me for 5 minutes! I felt so bad i promised i'd treat her to dinner someday. Passed by the London Marathon shop today and it had lots of cool Addidas gear. But it was more for Singapore weather though. :( Hmm.... maybe i'll buy some back as Christmas presents...

went running today with huifang and explored the bankside area. ran past st paul's cathedral too. shall drop by someday to take a look inside.
the service at hsbc is really terrible. i'm starting to appreciate the good service back at home. sigh. anyway, the plates, bowls and pot i bought a couple of days ago has finally come in handy. been cooking for the past few meals. haha. its been a quiet weekend here. lectures start on tuesday, argh.
