I would walk
went jogging today! to chinatown for breakfast. Huifang's novel idea. Quite smart actually, cos the thought of dou jiang you tiao serves as adequate motivation to get up early in on a Sunday morning for a long run. Anyway, got there in about 25 minutes. Sadly, there was no you tiao in the morning. The you tiao is only available at 12pm. Anyway the boss of the place was this fierce lady who squawks in cantonese (though not as terrible as the ghim moh market johnson duck auntie). Settled for nai cha and buns instead. After that we took a little tour of the Chinese supermarket since all the shops had opened. Went back to the same restaurant again to ask if we could have porridge this time, but da-pao the you tiao from another shop. Sadly, the answer was no. After we left the waitress came running out of the restaurant to tell us (behind her boss' back of course!) that the you tiao at that restaurant was lousy anyway. How cute. That led me to the conclusion that the girl had a fancy for either Gerald or Adrian. Hahaha.
We ate at loong tao instead (adrian was very happy about that) and on the way back, passed covent garden market to see some performances. Some guy was trying to wrap himself in 18 metres of tesco clingwrap. And he would say "At the end of the performance, I am going to die!" and everyone would clap and cheer at that moment. Quite amusing. On the other end of covent garden market a busker was singing with guitar accompaniment. He was good, I shall come back another weekend to sit down and listen.
The rest of the day was spent studying... sad but true.
Have started the habit of tuning in to Power 98 over the internet, cos its one of the few with good reception and actually plays music I like. So i listen to night-time chill out songs in the day and perky, wake-up music late in the night cos of the time difference. Ha. Will get me a DAB radio when I get back to Singapore. The DAB radios here are fugly.
Nice and old songs rediscovered today:
High and Dry - Radiohead
Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams
From the Heart - Another Level
