there were so many people today that it was quite sad. the first 5 km of the run basically involved stopping to walk many times, many because some people decided that they should get the biggest bang for their buck and stop at each drink stop. of course there were also the many lazy army guys walking in big groups blocking up the already congested lanes. its quite sad that probably the only people who jumped at all the possible shortcuts were army guys. anyways people should realise that if they want to walk they should move to the right like on expressways so that everyone else who wants to run can move to the express lanes. and it rained halfway! which was good because it gave those people congesting the lanes an extra incentive to go home or go for breakfast. and i don't blame them, cos if you're not running then its really quite silly to be walking in the rain. running in the rain is super fun. hn agrees. its so liberating. unfortunately it only rained for about half an hour then the rain stopped. started too slowly too. oh well, not like i could run any faster cos of the jam. so i talked to brenda for a while, then chionged the final 4km or so after the 6km people got filtered off. all it all it was a good experience. as much as i think i overtook a lot of people, i got overtaken by a lot of pros too. fortunately the people i overtook minus being overtaken gives a postive number. it was a rather humbling experience i must say.
its quite sad that i won't be here for standard chartered cos apparently the runs are less congested cos of the 40 bucks registration fee. shoba i hope you're hearing this!
anyway what's up with the perfect 10 dj with the american slur? and the girl who called in too. that's such a turn off. be proud of singapore english guys. in any case, they're playing "london bridge" by fergie now. yes and i heard the bridge they featured in the mtv is not even london bridge. its tower bridge lah. americans.
I would walk
