I would walk
yesterday was my last day at work. felt a tinge of sadness as i left. probably because this time i actually took the kids for something close to 3 months so i really got to know them and their little personalities. and when i initially thought some of them were brats, they really grow on you and i think over time they warm up to you as well. some of the kids were a little sad. was thinking of dropping little goodbye notes to all my classes but i figured i was a little too emo. the last class was with 412 and it was really quite funny. People were screaming, others laughing till they couldn't stand up straight. even the class next to us on the field were very amused. but honestly, it wasn't even like we were slacking. we were having fun while doing defensive concepts. will really miss them cos they put a smile on your face at the most unexpected moments. we found a toad! i have a feeling it was the same one that turned up at my class with 106. but meera stepped on it and broke its arm. i tried to get the girls to kiss it so it'll become a prince (haha) then i released it into the eco garden. i think it'll die. it took a hop then it flipped over. i think it'll die.
had lunch with ms tan and talked about lots of stuff then i went down to esplanade for a run. it has been quite long since i was back really. when i first came back i remember being totally unable to cope with the humidity and the heat and really dying while trying to catch up with hai nee and en ting. so now that i've actually fully acclimatised i'm leaving again! i have this strange feeling my running shoes won't last the whole 9 months there.
then the last shower at src. i always tell laura how i love showering there even more than in my own home cos they have nice hairdryers and nice large warm towels. haha. if only the berrylands changing room was like that. :(. dinner with the src netballers was quite fun. we were so hungry waiting for food to come we helped ourselves to the fruits first. then after a while we somehow became quite high and started laughing at everything. they are really a funny bunch. i told them they can tu bai mo even more without me cos they'll have one less player to share out the workload. following that we went to mr bean for coffee. half the car thought we were going for "mr bean" rochor rd tau huay and the other half knew that the real "mr bean" was a coffee place. hah.
met the rg netballers after that and talked from late till early morning. i always enjoyed the long conversations about anything and everything and how everyone is so open you aren't afraid to say what you really think cos they won't judge you by it. and we've known each other for so long. despite not spending enough time with them in jc i still feel like i've known them forever and its definitely not too late to make amends now. we were talking about how in jc a lot of them just lost the motivation for netball which only reinforces my convinction that softball was the right choice then even though i'm now back to netball again. in jc there was no ij to beat anymore but with softball we were so determined to do well. i remember the 7.30 to 1.30 trainings during the holidays and how we started training on our own early on fridays. sigh i miss those days.
yes, so that was the blow by blow account of that very long but sad friday. and i actually haven't started packing. oops.
