it does irk me that we all pay taxes so some bloody young couples can get a free $40,000 when they sign up for a HDB flat. then if they give birth to a kid, we give them more money for tax relief. and it really is quite disgusting that many who don't need it still want more, especially since 40,000 is more than a year of my salary at this point in time.
i'm sorry but a good number of us actually have to pay the full price for housing, and subsidize yours at the same time.
